Your service pages can be the highest-value SEO pages on your site. Each service page targets a specific search (for example, searches like: "EMDR therapy Ottawa," "prenatal massage Vancouver," "acupuncture for chronic pain Toronto") and has the potential to bring in patients who are actively looking for that exact treatment you offer. This guide walks you through how to set up your service page title, and meta description so each service page you build is working hard for your clinic.

Before you start

You'll need Admin access to Jane Websites to make these changes. You'll want to make sure you have one dedicated page per service rather than listing all services on a single page. You'll also want to have your service name, the conditions that service treats, your location, and any relevant credentials ready before you start writing.

How to Set Your Service Page Title

Your service page title should lead with the condition or benefit the patient is looking for. Patients search for solutions to their problems, so a page titled "EMDR Therapy for Trauma Recovery in Ottawa" ranks better than "EMDR Services" because it matches how patients search and where they're searching from. Keep your title between 50 and 60 characters, and only include your clinic name if you have space and strong local brand recognition.

  1. Once you're logged in to Jane Websites, click the pencil icon in the top left-hand corner, then click Page SEO Settings.
  2. If the fields are blank, click the Generate SEO with AI button to get a helpful starting point, then customize from there.
  3. In the Page Title field, type your title using this formula:
[Service Name] for [Benefit or Condition] | [Location]
For example: "EMDR Therapy for Trauma Recovery in Ottawa" or "Prenatal Massage Therapy in Vancouver | Certified RMTs."
  4. If one page covers multiple related services, use this formula instead:
[Service Category]: [Service 1], [Service 2], [Service 3] | [Location].
For example: "Massage Therapy: TMJ, Sports Injuries, Prenatal | Ottawa"
  5. Click the Save Settings button to save your progress.

How to Set Your Service Page Meta Description

Your meta description should speak directly to what the patient is experiencing and give them a clear reason to click through to your page. You'll also want to make sure you write a unique description for each page. Aim for a meta description of 150–160 characters and always end with a call to action.

  1. Once you're logged in to Jane Websites, click the pencil icon in the top left-hand corner, then click Page SEO Settings.
  2. If the fields are blank, click the Generate SEO with AI button to get a helpful starting point, then customize from there.
  3. In the Meta Description field, type your description using this formula:
[Condition or problem addressed] with [service name] in [location]. [Treatment approach]. [Credentials]. [Booking or convenience factor].
For example: "Healing trauma with EMDR therapy in Ottawa. Our registered psychotherapists specialize in PTSD, anxiety, and complex trauma recovery. Book a consultation."
  4. Click the Save Settings button to save your progress.

You're all set! Each service page on your site now has a strong title and meta description. Over time, these optimized pages will help your clinic rank for the specific treatments you offer and bring in patients who are ready to book.

Note

Repeat this process for every service page on your site. Each page needs its own unique page title and meta description, as copying the same content across multiple pages signals duplicate content to Google and reduces the effectiveness of each page.
