A step-by-step guide to the unique content your homepage needs to rank in local search and convert visitors into patients.

Customer Support

Updated July 1st, 2026

Your homepage targets the broadest local searches that patients make, so it can be one of the most impactful page on your site for overall search visibility. Beyond a strong title and heading structure, the content you include, like your services overview, team introduction, testimonials, and location information, is what determines whether a patient stays, trusts you, and books an appointment. This guide walks you through exactly what to add to your homepage.

Before you start

You will need Admin access to Jane Websites to make these changes. Have your services list, team information, location details, and any patient testimonials ready before you start.

How to Add a Services Overview

Adding a services overview to your homepage gives patients a clear picture of what your clinic offers and links them to the individual service pages where they can learn more.

  1. Once you're logged in to Jane Websites, navigate to your homepage and click the Add Block button on the left hand side of the page.
  2. If your clinic offers fewer than 4 services, use a Text Media Block to highlight each service. If your clinic offers more than 4 services, use a Image Links Block to highlight each service.
  3. Click the Pencil icon to start editing your content.
  4. On the block that you've selected, add a short introduction sentence that summarizes the range of services your clinic offers.
  5. List each of your main services and link each one to its dedicated service page on your site by scrolling to the Button Section, and selecting the appropriate title and page.
  6. Keep descriptions brief at this stage, as one or two sentences per service is enough. The individual service pages carry the details of what your clinic offers.
  7. Click the Update Block element button to save your progress

How to Add a Credentials and Why-Choose-Us Section

This next section tells patients why your clinic is the right choice and gives Google additional trust signals about your expertise.

  1. Navigate to your homepage and click the Add Block button on the left hand side of the page.
  2. Select a Text Media Block
  3. Click the Pencil icon to start writing content.
  4. Now, you'll want to write content that highlights what makes your clinic special. This content might include years of experience, specific specializations, professional affiliations, or awards received. Be sure to include relevant credentials and licenses for your clinic or lead practitioners.
  5. Be sure to keep this section focused on patient benefit. You'll want to frame your credentials in terms of what they mean for the patient's care, not just as a list of qualifications.
  6. Once you're done writing your content, scroll to the Button Section. Here, you'll want to add a link to your About page.
  7. Optional: Link to a new page titled About Our Clinic, as long as that new page includes information highlighted above.
  8. Click the Update Block element button to save your progress.

How to Add a Team Introduction

Adding a team introduction on your homepage starts building trust with your practitioners before a patient has even visited your About page.

  1. Navigate to your homepage and click the Add Block button on the left hand side of the page
  2. Select a Text Media Block
  3. Click the Pencil icon to start writing content.
  4. Add a brief introduction to your team. This should be one or two sentences that give patients a sense of who they will be working with.
  5. Optional: Use Layout 1,2,3, or 4, to add a photo of your team to your Text Media Block.
  6. Once you're done writing your content, scroll to the Button Section. Here, you'll want to add a link to your About page.
  7. Click the Update Block element button to save your progress.

How to Add Location and Accessibility Information

Including your location and accessibility details on your homepage helps patients find you and signals to Google that your clinic serves a specific local area.

  1. Navigate to your homepage and click the Add Block button on the left hand side of the page
  2. Select an FAQ Block
  3. Click the Pencil icon to start writing content.
  4. Write questions and answers that include your clinic address, including street address, city, and postal code. You should also include information about your parking and transit information so patients know how to get to you. You'll also want to include any accessibility features your clinic offers, such as wheelchair access, elevator access, or accessible parking.
  5. Click the Update Block element button to save your progress.

How to Add Patient Testimonials

Patient testimonials on your homepage build trust for both new visitors and search engines. This can also increase the likelihood of a patient booking.

  1. Navigate to your homepage and click the Add Block button on the left hand side of the page
  2. Select a Testimonials Block
  3. Click the Pencil icon to start writing content.
  4. Add two to four patient testimonials that speak to specific outcomes or experiences. The more specific the testimonial, the more trustworthy it feels.
  5. Include the patient's first name and any relevant context if you have permission to do so.
  6. Optional: If you're looking to add a Google Review Block, you can use the Custom Code Block, and use a widget builder like Elfsight to build your review widget. Alternatively, email support@janewebsites.com and our Support team can create one for you.
  7. Click the Update Block element button to save your progress.

Your last main navigation menu item appears as a button in your site's header. Linking it to your booking page is one of the simplest ways to drive appointments directly from your homepage. If your website is connected to Jane, your Book Now button is already connected with Jane Online Booking.

  1. Once you're logged in to Jane Websites, click Admin in the top right corner of your site, then click Menus from the dropdown menu.
  2. From the lefthand Site Menus section, select Main.
  3. Hover over the last item in your menu list and click the circle with three horizontal dots on the right.
  4. Click Edit, then update the Link to field to point to your Jane booking page or any other booking platform that you are using.
  5. Click the Save Link button to save your progress.

You're all set! Your homepage now has all the content it needs to rank in local search and give patients a clear, confident reason to book. From your services overview, to your team introduction, to your location details, every section is working together to bring the right patients to your clinic.

Note

The content you add to your homepage works best when it is supported by a strong heading structure and optimized page title and meta description.
